Château de Lez-Eaux is a 5-star estate campsite in Saint-Pair-sur-Mer, 4 miles from Granville on the west coast of Normandy. It is set in 30 acres of wooded parkland around a family château, run by Cécile and Olivier Poignant-de La Varde. The beaches of the Manche coast are minutes away, and Mont Saint-Michel and the Chausey Islands are easy day trips.
Choose from 127 spacious pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, including Premium and Suite pitches with private bathrooms. Alternatively, pick one of 102 rentals: mobile homes, chalets and treehouses. The 1,300 m² aquatic complex is the estate's centrepiece, with a heated indoor pool, water slides and a heated outdoor pool, so you can swim whatever the weather. Our Castel campsite, Château de Lez-Eaux, is located in Saint-Pair-sur-Mer near Granville in the Manche department, Normandy, offering a peaceful environment between the beach and countryside. You can visit Mont-Saint-Michel, less than 30 minutes away, as well as the Normandy beaches and the Chausey Islands, or take a stroll through the town of Granville, renowned for its harbour and the house where Christian Dior spent his childhood.
We offer a wide range of accommodation: mobile homes, chalets and cabins in the trees, as well as spacious traditional campsite pitches with electricity and water, suitable for tents, caravans and camper vans. You will also find Premium and Suite pitches with private sanitary facilities. Each accommodation is designed to guarantee comfort, privacy and a true nature immersion.
Children love the covered pool complex with its water play features, the mini-farm, playgrounds, kids’ club and the many activities organised during the peak season. We also offer inflatable play structures, a fishing pond, bike rides and pony rides…
Yes, the 1,300 m² pool complex, the only one of its kind in Normandy, features a heated indoor pool, water slides, a paddling area, water play and an outdoor pool heated to 29°C in the summer season with a counter-current swimming lane and air jets to help you relax. A real bonus for families with children!
Yes, pets are welcome on pitches and in rental accommodation (except tree cabins, for safety reasons), provided that campsite rules are respected. Pets are welcome throughout the season to join you for a memorable holiday in the great outdoors!
We allow up to two pets per family, regardless of their size or breed — large dogs are of course accepted. For safety reasons, dogs classified as regulated breeds shall not be permitted.
Pets are welcome throughout the campsite, except in the grocery shop, the outdoor pool and the indoor pool complex, in the interest of hygiene.
“Toutou Bars” are set up at various locations across the campsite (bar, grocery shop and reception) to offer your four-legged companions a bowl of fresh water. There is even a dog shower at your disposal, to rinse them down after a day at the beach!

Your 5-star campsite in Normandy, between Granville and the bay of Mont Saint-Michel
Château de Lez-Eaux is one of the Les Castels estate campsites in Normandy: independently run, family owned and set in heritage grounds. The estate lies in Saint-Pair-sur-Mer, just inland from the Manche coast, close enough for daily beach trips and far enough to stay green and quiet at night. It has grown up around the château of the Poignant-de La Varde family, who still run it today. Pitches and rentals are spread across 30 acres of trees and lawns, so even in August the estate feels like a country park rather than a holiday village.
If you’re bringing your own kit, the pitches are large and suited to tents, caravans and motorhomes, with a motorhome service point and EV charging on site. Castels Premium pitches add more space, and Castels Suite pitches come with a private bathroom. Travelling light? Mobile homes and chalets are ready on arrival, and the treehouses are a favourite with children.
Days on the estate follow a gentle rhythm. Children feed the animals at the mini farm on Monday and Thursday mornings and pick tomatoes and strawberries in the medieval vegetable garden. On Tuesday evenings in summer, a local produce and craft market sets up on the château lawn, and live music plays on the bar terrace on Monday and Thursday evenings. Older children and adults can take on the pirate escape game, inspired by the Saint-Pair corsair Charles-Marie Lucas.
The Château de Lez-Eaux campsite: at the crossroads between the sea, nature and Normandy heritage
Granville, 4 miles from the campsite, combines a walled upper town, a fishing harbour and the Christian Dior museum, set in the designer’s childhood home above the sea. From the harbour, boats take around an hour to reach the Chausey Islands, and in season they also sail to Jersey. Along the coast, the clifftop Cabane de Vauban at Carolles is 7 miles away. Mont Saint-Michel, 26 miles south, is easiest to enjoy from the quieter Normandy side of the bay, and the D-Day landing beaches make a full day out.
St Malo, Cherbourg and Caen are all around an hour or more by road. Château de Lez-Eaux therefore works both as a base for a week in the Manche and as a first or last stop on a longer tour of France, with the Cotentin peninsula and northern Brittany within easy reach.
The estate is liveliest in late July and August, when the kids’ club, concerts and markets are in full swing. For a quieter stay, June and September offer the same setting with more space and calm, and the heated indoor pool keeps swimming possible all season.
