The star-awarding procedure involves an in-depth assessment carried out by Atout France, the state-approved body responsible for classifying tourist accommodation. These assessments take place every five years and are conducted by control organisations accredited by Cofrac (the French accreditation committee), ensuring that quality standards are maintained.
