What to take with you when you go camping for a stress-free holiday

The question of what to take with you when you go camping is a very common one on internet search engines. Whether you're seasoned campers or newbies to nature holidays, we have created a list of things that you should bring with you in your motor home or as part of your camping kit.

Things to remember for a stress-free camping trip

What do I need to bring when I go camping? What are the must-haves, those little things that we don't often think about and the items you can safely leave at home? When you go on holiday, you always need to be organised, but if you're camping for the first time, sometimes it's a leap into the unknown but hopefully with a great reward.

Before we can identify what we need to take camping, first of all you need to decide as a couple, a family or a group of friends what type of accommodation you want. The things you’ll need won’t be the same if you rent a mobile home as they would if you were going to pitch a tent in a field.

Useful things to take with you on a camping trip

What if you’ve chosen to go on a fabulous, romantic glamping break? Don’t forget to take a couple of novels with you and perhaps something to write home with. Everything you need is already on site and will all be detailed in the list provided when you make your booking. Remember to check whether household linens are included (sheets and towels).

What if you’ve just booked one of our spacious, green pitches for your tent? Think about mealtimes and bring a camping stove, barbecue, cool box, plates, cutlery, pans, bin bags and cleaning products.

And what if you forget something? You can buy provisions on site or in neighbouring villages. We can help you to find a solution that meets your needs.

Bring the bare minimum when you go camping

When you consider what to take with you when you go camping, this also begs the question: “what should I leave at home?” The reason why you’re camping in the first place is probably because you enjoy relaxing on holiday and spending quality time with loved ones, and you also appreciate our eco-friendly campsites. Why not adopt the spirit of our values and only bring what you need on holiday? You could switch the kids’ tablets for drawing and puzzle books, paper and felt-tip pens. And the same goes for the adults! A set of boules instead of a laptop, a fishing rod instead of an accounts spreadsheet. Embrace your holiday and see where it takes you!
